The federal government of Pakistan has released a list of public holidays for the year 2019.

Notification issued by the Ministry of Interior expressed that there will be 14 open occasions this year, including

  • Kashmir Day
  • Pakistan Day
  • Labor Day
  • Eidul Fitr
  • Eidul Azha
  • Independence Day
  • Ashura
  • Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH)
  • Quaid-e-Azam Day.

“If there should arise an occurrence of Muslim celebrations, the dates of occasions depend on foreseen dates and are liable to appearance of moon for which a different notice will be issued by the Ministry of Interior,” the warning read.

The government likewise recorded 23 discretionary occasions, including

  • New Year
  • Basant
  • Shiv Ratri
  • Holi
  • Dulhandi
  • Shab-e-Mairaj
  • Good Friday
  • Easter
  • Nauroze

for government authorities. “Government authorities craving to benefit discretionary occasions will take earlier authorization of the head of office concerned and no administration worker, who is Muslim, will be allowed more than one discretionary occasion. Non-Muslims can be conceded three discretionary occasions in Calendar Year 2018-19,” the notice included.
